Hettich India

Indore: Hettich India has strengthened its ‘Made in India, Made for the World’ strategy with the inauguration of a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

The new development marks a significant milestone for Hettich India as it expands its local manufacturing footprint and reinforces India’s role as a key global manufacturing hub for the furniture fittings major.

The newly inaugurated facility further deepens Hettich India’s long-term commitment to the Indian market while bringing the company’s hallmark German precision and engineering standards to a larger scale of domestic production.

The launch also coincides with Hettich India’s 25-year journey in the country, reflecting its continued investments in manufacturing capabilities, job creation, and exports.

The new 25,700 sq. metre plant is located within Hettich India’s larger 103,039 sq. metre Indore manufacturing campus.

The facility will manufacture technologically advanced undermount drawer runners – precision-engineered concealed sliding systems installed beneath drawers to enable smooth and silent movement while maintaining a clean, handle-free aesthetic.

These undermount drawer runners are widely used in premium furniture and modular kitchen systems due to their durability, high load-bearing capacity, and seamless soft-close functionality.

Through the new plant, Hettich India aims to meet the rising demand for such products across India and international markets.

This facility represents Hettich India’s first dedicated manufacturing unit in the country for undermount drawer runners.

The plant forms part of the company’s overall investment of approximately ₹2,000 crore in India, highlighting the strategic importance of the market for the global furniture fittings brand.

At the Indore campus, Hettich India already operates a hinge manufacturing unit with an annual production capacity of around 60 million hinges.

With the addition of the new Quadro plant, the facility will now produce approximately 5 million units of undermount drawer runners annually, significantly strengthening Hettich India’s manufacturing capabilities.

The Indore manufacturing hub produces a broad range of premium furniture fittings, including hinges, sliding profiles, aluminium profiles, SL 16+ systems, and Cube Plus systems. With these capabilities, Hettich India has positioned the Indore facility among its most significant global production locations.

The newly launched plant has been designed as a highly automated, world-class manufacturing unit. Equipped with German-engineered machinery and advanced roll-forming technology, the facility ensures consistent product quality aligned with Hettich India’s global manufacturing standards.

Sustainability has also been integrated into the plant’s operations. Hettich India has incorporated multiple environmentally responsible initiatives at the facility, including rainwater harvesting systems, solar power installations, and a zero liquid discharge system to support sustainable manufacturing.

Hettich India: Creating Additional 300 Jobs

Alongside infrastructure investments, Hettich India is collaborating with Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and technical institutions to strengthen workforce capabilities. Through these initiatives, the company aims to equip employees with advanced manufacturing skills and technical training.

In terms of employment generation, Hettich India’s existing hinge manufacturing plant currently employs around 700 people. With the commissioning of the new facility, the company expects to create an additional 300 jobs, contributing to local economic development and strengthening the regional manufacturing ecosystem.

Equipped with specialised Hettich machinery and advanced automation technologies, the new plant will ensure seamless product quality that aligns with the company’s global benchmarks.

These technologies further enhance Hettich India’s ability to deliver high-quality furniture fittings to domestic and international markets.

Andre Eckholt, Managing Director, Hettich India, SAARC, Middle East & Africa, said: “As we complete 25 years of Hettich’s operations in India, the inauguration of our new plant in Indore, Madhya Pradesh marks another significant milestone in our growth journey.

With an overall investment of over ₹2000 crore and a continued focus on BIS-certified manufacturing, we are reinforcing our Built to Lead commitment while steadily expanding our Made in India portfolio.

The growing domestic and international demand for undermount drawer runners validates our strategic direction. As an industry leader, we remain firmly focused on anticipating market trends and proactively preparing to meet the evolving needs of our customers and partners.

Furthermore, our strong emphasis on local manufacturing enables us to build a resilient supply chain while delivering greater cost competitiveness and faster market responsiveness.”

According to Eckholt, India remains central to the company’s long-term global strategy. With expanding operations, strong technological capabilities, and continued investments, Hettich India is building a robust foundation for future growth while reinforcing its vision of “Made in India, Made for the World.”

India has emerged as the second-largest market globally for Hettich India and continues to grow as a strategic production base. From this hub, the company serves markets across SAARC, the Middle East, Europe, and China.
